Leona A. Raddatz, age 99, of Redwood Falls passed away on June 2, 2023, at St John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from St John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial to follow in the Peace Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.

Leona Kruse, daughter of Edward and Metha (Koch) Kruse was born June 2, 1924. She was baptized June 29, 1924 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Willow Lake Township, by Pastor Rudolph. Confirmed on June 5, 1938 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Christian Mach. On April 17, 1953 married Gerhald Brekke. He died April 24, 1956. On June 22, 1964 she married Carl J. Raddatz in Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota. The couple resided in Three Lakes Township where they farmed. They were active members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Clements, Minnesota until October 20, 1979 when she and her husband Carl became members of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. The couple moved to Redwood Falls on September 30, 1989. She worked at the Redwood Medical Center for 27 years. She belonged to the St. John Ladies Quilting Group and Mission Sewing Group.
Leona is survived by her sister, Elsie E. Kruse of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; brothers John, Walter and Edwin Kruse; sisters Helen Kruse and Emma Timm (Mrs. Edwin Timm).
