Betty Lucille “Lucy” Walraven, age 88, of Boaz, AL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was of the Baptist faith.
Lucille was an accomplished gardener and homemaker who loved to be in her yard, enjoying birds and butterflies. Her beautifully kept yard reflected her love of nature and earned her recognition as Yard of the Month in 2002. She also enjoyed cooking and decorating, especially at Christmas, which was her favorite time of year. Lucille never met a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with both old friends and new acquaintances.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Walraven; father, Earl Franklin Howard; and mother, Lottie Mae Howard Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Mark Galloway of Georgia.
A private graveside service was held in her honor.
