Margaret Marasco, 83, of Saucier, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Margaret was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois, and later made the Mississippi Gulf Coast her home. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Hotel Management and worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years before retiring. Margaret was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served proudly as Regent of her local chapter for many years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo and Jerry Shehorn; and her sons, Timmy Rich, Tony Rich, and Harry Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John Marasco; her children, Todd and Linda Rich, Tonya Rich, and Mike and Janice Rich; her cousin/sister Deonna Schreiber; and sister Francise Presswod.
Margaret was blessed with many grandchildren, Robert Rich, Kathrine Francabandera, Benjamin Rusher, Jonathan Rich, Todd Rich, Amanda Adams, Laura Rich, Levi Rich, and Jeremy Harrell — along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved her dearly.
She was known for her warmth, generosity, and love of family. Margaret enjoyed crafting, building her beautiful Christmas village displays, and doting on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and pets. She loved to travel, never met a stranger, and found joy in simple pleasures — especially John Wayne movies and yellow roses.
Margaret’s kindness and laughter touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of love and strength will live on through her family and friends.
