Michael T. Dagley, a cherished member of the community and respected former law enforcement officer, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on October 17, 1948, Michael dedicated his life to service, not only through his career but also in his personal life.
Michael had a distinguished career as a police officer in Shelbyville, Indiana, where he earned the rank of lieutenant detective. His commitment to justice and community safety was unwavering, and he was admired by both his colleagues and the citizens he served. In addition to his career in law enforcement, he proudly served as a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard, showcasing his dedication to protecting and serving his country.
On January 6, 1974, Michael married his beloved wife, Lyna Dagley. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership, and together, they built a family filled with warmth and joy. Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Lyna; their son, Chad Michael Dagley, married to Christa, residing in O'Fallon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Hanna Goodson (married to Connor) and Noah Dagley; and three great-grandchildren, Wesley Goodson, Reagan Goodson, and Marshall Goodson. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Dagley, along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Known for his kind spirit, Michael regularly attended SunRise Church, where he found joy in fellowship and community. He had a passion for playing golf, a hobby that allowed him to connect with friends and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, June Dagley, and his father, Ezra Dagley.
Visitation will be held on November 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at SunRise Church, located at 7116 Twin Chimneys Blvd, O'Fallon, MO. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
As we remember Michael T. Dagley, we celebrate a life filled with dedication, love, and a commitment to service. He leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
