Michael Robert Miller of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away peacefully on 21 October 2025 at the age of 73.
Michael Miller was born on 5 October 1952 near Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up in Roseburg, Oregon.
After attending Roseburg High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and served 12 years, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Following his military service, Michael pursued a career in engineering, which took him all over the United States. He was known for his humor, interest in history, and belief in the superiority of the Oregon Beavers over the Ducks.
Michael is survived by his wife, Delores Kay Miller; his 3 children, Angela Barney, Nicole Haugh (and spouse COL Robby Haugh), and Carley Young (and spouse Daniel Young); and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his four brothers, Tony, Jerry, Russell, and Matthew Miller.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Miller and Emmy Miller, and his son-in-law, Timothy Barney.
Michael Miller will be laid to rest on 7 November at 10:00AM (PT) at the Roseburg National Cemetery in Roseburg, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Safe Harbor Foundation, The Gary Sinise Foundation, or their local Veterans organization in Michael Miller's honor.
