Mitchell J. Soerens, age 62, of Weyauwega, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He passed quickly within the familiarity of his own home.

Mitchell was born November 5, 1962, to Kenneth and Yvonne (Yonke) Soerens in Waupaca, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed into his faith at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church. Mitch was brought up in the quaint town of Weyauwega. He would go on to graduate from Weyauwega Fremont High School, remaining in the area for the rest of his days.

Mitch's first job was a butcher at Behman's Grocery Store. He eventually began working at the Waupaca Foundry where he would stay for approximately 32 years before retiring in January of 2025. He began driving bus for the Weyauwega-Fremont school district to pass his time while in retirement.

Mitch is survived by his 3 children: Mitchell, Aliah, and Karissa; sisters: Melanie Soerens and Melissa Soerens. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, his abundant amount of friends and his community.

Mitch was an adamant outdoorsman. A hunter, fisherman, an enthusiast. He shared this love with his 3 kids, especially Mitchell his eldest son. Mitch loved the comradery of others, making many of friendships along the way, including some very monumental ones that had stood through the test of time. Mitch enjoyed a bountiful night of card games and conversations with whomever gathered at the table. Friends, family, acquaintances. Cribbage and tip tank or tonk were his bread and butter with his children. He could never pass up an opportunity to sip some whiskey whilst dealing out a hand of cards. Mitch was always willing to help his friends and family with whatever task may arise. In the idle hours of his life he could be found putzing around in the garage, looking for his next small project.

Mitch was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Kenneth and Yvonne Soerens, and his brother, Marc Soerens.

The Funeral Service for Mitch will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Aaron Kristopeit officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Weyauwega and also on Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM at the church.
