Dr. Monica Lurtz, of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at the age of 55. Loving daughter of Mary A. and the late Stewart A. “Stu” Lurtz; dear sister of Theresa Crotty, Sharon (Tom) Gain, Michael (Kristine) Lurtz, and Mark (Kelly) Lurtz; cherished aunt of Courtney, Thomas and Andrew Crotty, Dalton Gain, Alyssa (Tom) Wors, Ryan and Eric Lurtz, Aidan and Cuinn Lurtz; treasured great-aunt of Bastian Wors; beloved cousin and friend to many.
After obtaining her Doctorate, Monica began a career as a researcher, professor, and safety specialist. She was passionate about cooking and baking and creating her own recipes. She enjoyed gardening, attending theater, learning, reading, and sewing. Monica loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also cared deeply about her beloved cats, especially Lily and Toby along with any other cat that visited her. Monica recently moved back to St. Louis after residing in several states to advance her career. Monica was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Monica's name to the American Diabetes Association.
