Sarah Jean Kaldenberg, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 27, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1980, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Edward and Laurel (Ludlow) Kaldenberg. Sarah was raised in Indianapolis with her siblings and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2000. Sarah started her working career as a bagger at Kroger on Crawfordsville Road during high school. She later worked at Deering Cleaners on Crawfordsville Road and also on W. 10th Street. Sarah mostly worked in the deli and bakery at both Marsh on W. 38th Street and Kroger on Fall Creek and Binford, where she loved decorating the cakes.
Sarah was talented with arts and crafts. She loved making things for her family and friends. Sarah also loved all of the kids in her life. She had her daughter, Maddie, along with all of her nieces and nephews to spoil and take care of. The nieces and nephews called her Auntie Sarie and Auntie Boo. She would use the last of her money to buy them gifts and take them out for ice cream. Sarah's unconditional love for Maddie, her nieces, great nieces and nephews allowed her to do anything for them, making sure they did not go without.
Sarah is preceded in death by her grandfather, Willard Ludlow; Uncle Kenny; grandmother, Irene Ludlow; Uncle Gary; and father, Edward Kaldenberg.
Sarah is survived by her daughter, Madison “Maddie” Kaldenberg; mother, Laurel “Laurie” Kaldenberg; siblings, Carrie Kaldenberg (BJ Howard), Ryan Kaldenberg (Kelly Kaldenberg), and Robert Kaldenberg; nieces and nephews, Katelin Kaldenberg, Brandon Conlin, Mariah Kaldenberg, Quinn Kaldenberg, Kane Kaldenberg, Kolten Kaldenberg, and Liam Kaldenberg; and great nieces, Ellah Buis, Sophia Buis, Rosie Bereta, Veda Conlin-Young and Vila Conlin-Young; along with aunt, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a visitation from 2pm to 3pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 3pm at the funeral home.
