Theresa M. Vacante, of Newtown Square, PA, affectionately known as “Tree,” sadly passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary T. (née Anton) Gronkiewicz.
A devoted Secretary at an insurance company and for the Youth Ministry at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Rockville, MD, Theresa was not just a dedicated worker but also a beacon of support and kindness for all who knew her. Her colleagues and friends remember her for her unwavering commitment to helping others, and her ability to light up any room with her warm smile and gentle spirit.
Theresa’s love story with her husband, Dominick, spanned an incredible 44 years.
Their bond was a testament to true love, characterized by mutual respect and a profound connection that only deepened over the years.
An avid walker and passionate reader, Theresa found joy in exploring the world through books and travel. She also had a particular fondness for history, reflecting her curious mind and desire for knowledge. As a good cook, she was known for preparing delicious meals, especially fresh salads that brought family and friends together, fostering a sense of community and warmth in her home.
Theresa was the beloved wife of Dominick A. Vacante; the loving mother of Michael Vacante and Dana Garcia (Cory). She is also survived by her siblings, Nicholas Gronkiewicz (Theresa), James Gronkiewicz (Joan), John Gronkiewicz, Andrew Gronkiewicz (Sandy), Anthony Gronkiewicz, as well as her sister-in-law, Mary Ann LeMonnier (Mark); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Theresa’s memory at a Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, November 10, 2025, followed by a Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Theresa’s memory, would be appreciated to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org">www.PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network).org and Society of the Little Flower, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, www.littleflower.org.
