Wayne Priestley Pritt (Pritski)May 17, 1939 – October 29, 2025

On October 29, 2025, our family said goodbye to our beloved father and pawpaw, Wayne Pritt – affectionately known to those that knew and loved him as Pritski or Mr. Wayne. He was a proud West Virginian whose humor, generosity, and love for his family left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

Wayne was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on May 17, 1939, and no matter where life took him, he carried that piece of home with him. To our family, “Country Roads” wasn’t just a song — it was our anthem. Whether we were gathered in the living room or spread across the country, those first few chords brought us all back home to him.

Wayne spent most of his successful career with General Motors, which meant moving his family around more times than a traveling circus — a lifestyle that turned our family into seasoned road warriors and gave us countless stories to tell, with promises of a “character building experience”. He later joined his brother Frank’s company, Attachmate, where he eventually retired. Even in retirement, Wayne never stopped entertaining. He could always be counted on for a quick joke, a good story, or a tune from his endless repertoire — usually shared over a well-poured glass of scotch.

He leaves behind his children, Mary Alice Zill, Marcie (Brad) Harruff, and Lisa Pritt; grandchildren Justin Zill, Kaitlyn Zill, Trenton (Karlee) Harruff, Cassidy (Matt) Harris, and Nora (Andrew) Coleman; and great-granddaughters Isla and Andi Harris. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson & Sibyl Pritt, his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara, and his brother, Frank, who we know are welcoming him home with love.

In retirement, Wayne pursued one of his many passions, owning Binweal Racing, a team in the NASCAR Slim Jim Series. It was an exciting chapter of his life, and like everything else he did, it came with a sense of adventure, plenty of laughter, and many stories to share. Alongside his wife, Barbara, he also owned and operated Country Cottage Crafts for more than 20 years in the charming town of Mount Dora, Florida.

True to his wishes, there will be no formal service or memorial. Instead, we invite friends and family to honor him in a way he’d appreciate raise a glass of scotch (or whatever your beverage of choice), share a favorite joke or story, and sing along — loudly and without apology — to “Country Roads.”

Take us home, Dad. You were, and always will be, our favorite song.
