William Gerald Arnold, 84, of Mill Creek, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 31, 2025 at Graham Memorial Church of Mill Creek. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45am on Friday at the church. A recording of the service will be available at noefs.net following the service.
William Gerald Arnold was born on December 31, 1940, to his parents Melton Duffy Arnold and Leola Currier Arnold, he was one of ten children.
William was born and raised in Mill Creek, NC where he lived most of his life, he was employed at the State Port in Morehead City for many years. He later lived and worked in Cape Canaveral, Florida for several years due to his job as a Captain on a Scallop trawler. After returning to North Carolina, he worked for his brother Larry Arnold Docks and Seawalls where he worked as a foreman with his brother JD and several of his nephews.
One of his biggest joys in life was his family he had four brothers and four sisters that preceded him in death. His brothers, JD,, Shybo, Larry, Linwood Arnold: four sisters, twins Rita and Nita, Nellie and Lois. The Arnold Boys were known far and wide, they were always helping one another by building each other’s homes, working on cars, always there for each other as well as helping their sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Liam Lawrence (Dr. Ivan Negron’) Celebration, Fl.; daughters, Tina Sheffield (Johnny) Vance, SC; Tami Cooper and Cindi Arnold both of Otway, NC; Angel Arnold of Mill Creek, NC; his longtime companion Melinda "Sam" Grimes; her children Betsy Rogers, Core Creek, NC; WT Dennis (Crystal), Core Creek NC; and Angie (David) of Virginia; his youngest brother, Mark Arnold (Debra) Arizonia; 16 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren as well as his fur baby Fancy, any nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Melton and Leola Arnold; daughter, Duffa Mae Arnold and son, Vern Farrell Fox; sons-in- law, Jimmy Cooper and Danny Garner.
