William Paul “Will” Smith, 73, of Independence, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home after losing his fight with cancer. He was born May 17, 1952, in Rockport, Maine, the son of the late Harold W. Smith and Mabel D. Marshall Smith. He was married to his second wife, Judith Madigan Smith, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, William Smith, Jr. and Sean Smith, both of Maine. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Bennett Smith and daughter, Rebecca Smith. He was a retired Prison Guard in Maine. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
