Virginia Bruce Obituary

Virginia Arthur Bruce

Virginia Arthur Bruce, 88, of Altavista died Sunday, October 3, 2010 in Gretna Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Arnold Bruce.

She was born March 30, 1922 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late William V. Arthur and Ida Kelly Arthur. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church and a retired employee of The Lane Company.

She is survived by a son, Wayne K. Bruce and his wife Irene of Hurt; a sister, Ruth Eades of Hurt; four grandchildren, Keith Bruce, Dean Bruce, Rhonda Wooldridge, and Candice Bruce; one great granddaughter, Savannah; and a special neighbor, Vince Gryctko.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista by the Rev. Dennis Nichols and Tim Eades with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Gretna Health Care for all the loving care they provided Mrs. Bruce during her stay and a very special thanks to Patty.

The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Plantation, P.O. Box 1398, Brookneal, VA 24528.
