Thomas Bloxton Obituary

Thomas D. Bloxton Thomas D. Bloxton, 74, passed away on November 27, 2011 at Fairfax Inova Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Bloxton; and brothers, John Jr., and James Bloxton.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sharon Bloxton; his daughters, Cynthia Bloxton and Lisa Bloxton Durham (Geoff); his sons Joe and Tom Bloxton, Jr.; his grandchildren, Noah Bloxton, Lexi and Abby Durham. Mr. Bloxton is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Jordan and Alice Osborne of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and Deanna DiPretoro of Annapolis, Maryland; his brother, Bill Bloxton (Sheila) of Woodbridge, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bloxton was born and raised in Summerlee, West Virginia and has resided in the Northern Virginia area since 1959. He was a member of the VFW Post #1503 and the Moose Lodge and was an avid golfer. He spent the last few years working in the Pro Shop at Old Hickory Golf Course.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. and 12 to1 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City. A Life Celebration will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday with interment at Quantico National Cemetery.
