Anna Betts Obituary

Anna (Hamad) Betts, of Danbury, wife of 50 years to the late Lewis T. Betts, died on Saturday, November 20, 2010. She was born in Danbury , daughter of the late Charles and Sadie (Joseph) Hamad. Anna's life was centered around her family who lovingly and devotedly cared for her. She passed away peacefully in her own home. Anna attended Danbury Schools, was a lifelong member of the Danbury community, and worked for various area hat factories. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Elaine C. Zahara and her husband, Martin "Zeke," of New Fairfield, and Mary A. Roos and her companion, Paul McCluskey of Waterbury; her four grandchildren, Amy Gaetano and her husband, Lou of West Haven, Stacy Romano and her husband, Tony of Oakville, Jeffrey Zahara and his fianc� Lindsay Vanak of Danbury, and Wendy Roos of Waterbury. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Hamad of Southbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. Friends may gather at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery .
