Bessie R. Cahall

Bessie Rebecca Cahall, 66, of Waynesboro, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born on December 4, 1943, in Elkton, Maryland, a daughter of Luther Scott and Irene Duff Long.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Cahall; and a son, Preston Scott Cahall.

Surviving are two daughters, Julie Cahall of Waynesboro and Linda Funk and her husband, Marshall, of Maryland; two sons, William Cahall of Waynesboro and Robert Cahall and his wife, Bonnie, of North Carolina; one sister, Margaret Talley of Delaware; one brother, J.R. Long and his wife, Barbara, of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Sean Henderson, Marshall and Marsha Funk, and Lauren, Kasey, Jacob, and Rebecca Cahall; one great-grandchild, Jamison Funk; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

McDow Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
