Marian L. "Scout" Hullett, 96, of Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010.

Marian was born April 13, 1914, in Smyrna, Delaware to the late Clement and Fannie Scout.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Marian graduated from Smyrna High School in 1931 and professionally was an x ray lab technician in Baltimore, Maryland, until she met and married Arthur J. Hullett Jr. in 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Hullett Jr.; and five siblings; two sisters, Temperance Ann Scout and Helen Elizabeth Scout; and three brothers, Willis Scout, George Scout, and Henry Scout.

Marian is survived by her son, Arthur J. Hullett III and his wife, Catherine, of Lyndhurst; two grandchildren, Arthur J. Hullett IV of Waynesboro and Stacy Cullivan and her husband, Justin, of Richmond; two nieces, Julia Ann Scout of Wilmington, Delaware, and Elizabeth Ann Tarin of Aurora, Colorado.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Hullett residence at 512 Chinquapin Drive, Lyndhurst.

Marian's ashes will be interred at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Baltimore, Maryland, next to her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that all contributions be made to the Staunton Augusta S.P.C.A., 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.
