Barbara "Bobby" Lou Holcomb

Barbara Lou Holcomb, 63, died at 7:17 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2011, at her home in Clearwater, Florida.

Bobby was born on May 4, 1947, in Schenectady, New York, the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Anson Holcomb and Kathryn Green Holcomb of Fairway Drive, Waynesboro, Virginia.

She grew up in Schenectady, New York, and Waynesboro, Virginia.

Bobby graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1965. She was a 1969 graduate of Michigan State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

She and her companion, Richard E. Jaggers III were residents of Clearwater, Florida. During her life she was an avid outdoorsman with a love of geology, the ocean, the beach, scuba diving, hiking, running and bicycling.

Survivors include her companion, Richard E. Jaggers III of Clearwater, Florida; two aunts, Ann Holcomb Bushnell of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Loraine Green of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Dr. Scott B. Holcomb and his wife, Dr. Rosemary Sale Holcomb, with their children, Kelly, Kathryn, Kimberly, and Thomas of Marietta, Georgia; and brother, Christopher A. Holcomb and his wife, Gloria McCormick Holcomb, and their sons, Ryan and Austin of Alpharetta, Georgia.

The family will hold a private service at her final resting place in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
