Sara Frances (Clatterbaugh) Clayton Dedrick
Sara Frances (Clatterbaugh) Clayton Dedrick, 76, of Howard Avenue, Waynesboro, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Augusta Health after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on February 8, 1934, in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of Albert Clatterbaugh and Mae Fitzgerald Clatterbaugh.
She was a graduate of Wilson High School.
Mrs. Dedrick retired after 30 years of service at Western State Hospital.
She was an avid bowler, belonging to three leagues.
She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Dedrick of Waynesboro; three sons, Michael T. Clayton of Phoenix, Arizona, Dallas H. Clayton and his wife, Cindy, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Shawn C. Clayton and his fianc‚, Janette, of Staunton; five grandchildren, Tyler, Lauren, Melinda, Jonathan, and Sean Clayton; one great-grandchild, Mica Clayton; a special aunt, Doris Landis; and her faithful furry friends, "Kodiak" and "Cheyenne".
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010, at McDow Funeral Home.
A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2010, at the chapel of McDow Funeral Home by Pastor David S. Huffer. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Rudy Landis, Mike Slusher, Chad Wilfong, Steve Smith, Anthony Coiner, and Eddie Dawson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Wednesday Mixed Senior Bowling League, and the Friday Night Bowling League.
