Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Campbell Family know that we recently made a small donation to Soldier's Angels in honor of Joshua R. Campbell US Army Specialist. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son and husband’s sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

I just want the Campbell family to know that I had a great time working with Joshua. He was a vary smart person and would always help out when he saw a need. He was not afraid to get dirty or to do any work at all. We all miss him and things are not the same without him here. I do pray that God will lead you all as you go through this rough time and know that we at the 546 are with you all.

Dear Family of Spc. Joshua Campbell:
My heart is breaking hearing of the loss of your son. Special warrior and American Hero. Wrapped lovingly in the Arms of our Lord and Savior, know he is smiling down sending love and letting you know he is ok. Look to the stars for he is there along with so many other men and women who have given their lives for their God, country and fighting for freedom for their families. I lost my son, Sgt. Clint Ahlquist, USMC on 2-20-07 in Ramadi, Iraq. Remember and smile at all of your special memories and keep them close to your heart. God Bless Joshua and his family.

We'll fight them on the ground,
We'll fight them in the sky,
When the Marines and Navy are heading home,
The Army are standing by.
And when he gets to heaven,
To St. Peter he will tell,
"Another Soldier reporting, Sir,
I've served my time in Hell!"
may your family be blessed at this very sad time...no words can change the loss but remember Joshua for the service he has given and for the man he will always be ..thank you josh for keeping us free and serving your country so honorably . the gove family

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Joshua will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

A mans actions do not make him a hero its the legacy a man leaves behind that does. We lay down a man who fought and died for his country. That man's name will forever be carved into history as a hero. RIP Soldier!

I was at his very nice deployment ceremony as my son-in-law is the company commander and was very hopeful that all would make it back safely. I am so sorry that did not happen. Joshua's picture was just on the PBS News Hour (1/2/11). I am grateful to Joshua for giving his life for his country. May he rest in peace.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SPC. Joshua Campbell our Brother-in-Arms . To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Joshua. And to Joshua it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Joshua, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,335 military Legionnaire Veterans of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Joshua’s family and loved ones.
