Lorene was born March 14, 1930, in Conception Junction, Mo., to Leonard and Lola (O'Bannion) Schaaf. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Lorene was a former co-owner of Shipley Optical and had various bookkeeping jobs in Council Bluffs.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney, in 1985; and sister, Lila Emerich.
Lorene is survived by daughters, Mary Sorensen, of Council Bluffs and Sharon Messbarger, of Denver, Colo.; granddaughter, Terra Hall (Matthew), of Waterloo, Neb.; sister, Joann Martin, of Liberty, Mo.
Family and friends are to meet at the St. Joseph Cemetery for a Graveside service, Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 10 a.m., with Father Chuck Kottas officiating. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter's Catholic Church.
