He is survived by daughters, Julie Beno and Janet Beno; sister, Ann Skrei; his granddaughters, Jennifer Simpson, of Omaha, Neb.; Lori Simpson, of Silver Springs, Md., and Kristen Simpson, of Breckenridge, Colo.; and his grandson, Alex Osteen, of San Luis Planes, Honduras.
George graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1946 and the University of Iowa in 1950. Beno Family, Mike & I are saddened by Chubs passing. He enjoyed a visit to our home in Arkansas with Ann & Dick. He went out fishing and had a great time. He had such a pleasant demeanor and loved to laugh. Mike & Linda Messerli. Bella Vista, AR

My memory fails me but one of the Beno family helped teach me photography when I was 12 years old. He photographed the Miss Council Bluffs pageant and let me and others help him in the darkroom developing prints. He was gracious with his knowledge and always a gentleman. Like I say, I'm not sure if this is the same man as it was almost 50 years ago, but I have nothing but great memories of his kindness.

Dear Beno Family:
I always admired Chub and the Beno's Department Store as it was such a wonderful retail store in Council Bluffs. Chub was a great retailer and I always enjoyed talking to him at the Senior Center before and after our work outs. My thoughts and prayers are with all the Beno family at this time.
Sincerely,
