Mark was born October 7, 1957, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and graduated from Treynor High School in 1975 and married his high school sweetheart, Kathy "Kate". Mark owned and operated M & K Auto in Treynor with his wife and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Paul Ryan.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Kathy "Kate" Ryan; mother, Eloise Ryan, both of Treynor; daughters, Lindsey Slaughter and husband, Jamie, and Tina Penney and husband, Steven, all of Council Bluffs; sister, Michelle Dolezal, of Council Bluffs; brothers, Timothy Ryan and wife, April, of Texas, Troy Ryan and wife, Sheri, of Missouri; daughter from the heart, Tanya DeGroat and husband, Kenny and four grandchildren of Oakland, Iowa, father-in-law, Harlan Klahn, of Treynor; several brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation with the family Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., St. Paul Lutheran Church, Treynor. Reverend Charles Bichel, officiant. Interment St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow back at church. Family has suggested memorials to Treynor Fire and Rescue or St. Paul Lutheran Church.

I am truly sorry for your loss of your loved one.Mark impressed a lot of lives with the ways he had with them, he will be truly,truly missed by those little lives he touch. Sorry to hear about Mark. I missed seeing your Dad at the shop. He fixed alot of flat tires for us. I will always cherish the memories of you girls when my Mom babysat you and we would go the the pool. You girls were so cute! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
