Uncle Andy, I miss you dearly. You taught me about the focused way you approached sailing and all things. I was happy for the free advice you often gave..I love you, only wish I'd known you better.

My deepest condolences. I was honored to have worked with Andy while he was at GMU Law. Any time that I saw Andy and Berkie coming down the hall, I knew it was going to be a good day.

To Andy,
Thank you for your confidence in me while crewing for you in the "C's" in Minnesota during the eighties. You demonstrated to me the finest example of gracious sportsmanship and humble expertice on the water and land.
Derek, I remember we crewed with your Dad one summer race weekend.
Your company on the Birkibiner ski races cheered me during the long slogs and slow tracks.
My best wishes are for you and your family and they are shared by all at the U of MN law School.
I will always think of you on a cat running with a following breeze, past Thomas Point Shoal light, then Tilghman, soon Point No Point on starboard, through the Wolftrap and on to slip out into the great blue forever.
I'll see you there Andy.

I knew Andy as a Classmate at Princeton. Our paths would glowingly cross at Reunions. Andy was an adornment of our Class. Mike Robbins '55

I wouldn't be here if “uncle” Andy hadn't asked my mother to sail him across Marblehead harbor in her sailing dinghy, noted that she was “not such a little girl after all”, and invited her to join him and his Olympic crew for dinner at the Boston Yacht Club, and sent my Dad to go pick her up. I guess the hot-shot sailor (even in his 70's doing showy tricks racing Lasers), transformed his gusto into what are sure to be whimsical and formidable gusts of wind on a racecourse, annoyingly before I got to say good bye or sail with him again.
