Lyda Curtis Obituary
Mrs. Curtis was a long time resident of Pensacola, Fla., but had previously lived with her husband in Mobile, Ala., Baltimore, Md., New York State and Washington State.
She had been an active member in Richard's Memorial United Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher and in Women's Ministry, and in later years at Cokesbury U.M.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison P. and Rose Etta Tanner; brothers, Harold Tanner, Lloyd Tanner, Y.D. Tanner, Daniel Tanner, John Tanner; sisters, Sadie Tanner, Bessie Savoie and Gladys Watts. She was the widow of Layford Burdette Curtis (Curt) who died March 1990.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her sister, Arliegh Rigby of Mobile, Ala; brothers, Albert Tanner of Clinton, Ala., Mack (Patsy) Tanner of Theodore, Ala., special cousin Bill (Rita) Adams and numerous precious nieces and nephews.
Forever kept in love by her daughter, Lynn Zuleger and husband Rev. William Zuleger ("Favorite" Son-in-law); grandchildren, Todd and Candy Zuleger, Tiffany Barrow; great grandchildren, Blake and Emma Barrow and Lauren Zuleger, to whom she was known as Bubbie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Rev. William Zuleger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service for all friends and family. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery alongside her husband.
The family extends a very special thank you for the loving care that was given to Lyda at West Florida Hospital Covenant Hospice Inpatient & Palliative Care Center and those who have shown such love and kept us in your prayers.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is in charge of arrangements.
