I light a candle to our friendship, it is a candle like no other, for we are candles that lights this existence, and though new ones are lit as old ones go out, each moment of light from them is precious. God Bless you and keep you Mark Rowan. Michelle Gagnon at the Chesterfield Hotel

I am very sorry to hear about Mark. I Met Mark at my days at Madison Bank and over 15 yrs. we always talked on the phone but had never met in person. Last yr I helped him out and invited him to our annaul Christmas party, but something came up last miniute and we missed each other again. We finally had the chance I went down to the Hosp. picked him up and we went to lunch. Boy does he love Olive garden's soup. It was so nice to finaly meet him, he was a nice person, funny, and I will miss my talks with him. We would talk abut my girls and his nieces and nephews. we were going to try and introduce my daughter to one of mark's sisters....From my family to yours we are very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. If you ever need any info on the SBB, just call me and I will help out in any way I can, 215-588-3507

Jay and family, I just heard the sad news a few weeks ago and have been trying to find Jay's number with no luck. I have memories with Mark that will be with me forever... Playing his progressive gin rummy game ( that I never understood how he kept score) late into the evenings in Jamaica is one of many... . He was so intense and fun all at the same time. I am so sad that I did not know his condition. Jay give me a call if you get this... Tom

Jay, Michael & family,
Saddened by Mark's death. I was traveling when I heard but I'm sure the whole town came out to celebtate his life!
I have such fond memories of bar hopping from Vincent's up Gay St to late nights at laCocotte. Who can forget the piano playing at Avalon or the craziness when everyone showed up for happy hour.
Mark was one of a kind; so bright, so full of life , so charming. He is missed.
My emotions are raw as I just buried my own brother but I can empathize with your enormous loss. I hope you find solace in knowing Mark is at peace & no longer suffering.
RIP my dear friend...a hug to you until we meet again

My wife and I just heard the sad news this evening and are heavy hearted. He was one of a kind. He was a good friend to many. He chose the path he wanted to pursue and did it with passion. I don't believe he left with any regrets. We enjoyed his company and will miss him. We met him when he sold us our first house and have remained friends ever since 35 years .
Good bye friend

Mark often expressed his affection in poetry.
So, here's a poem for you, Mark Rowan.
Mark loved sunflowers and sunny beaches,
Porches, decks and short, clever speeches.
A seersucker suit and a crisp white shirt
A pick- up truck and flip flops can't hurt
Fast horses, a reliable bank lender
Handsome sailboats and a friendly bartender.
Travel to Ireland was a treat for Pud
Sharing Irish tales as only he could
Mark didn't let the truth get in the way oh his story
Of the Emerald Isle in all of its glory.
Fresh summer corn and jersey tomatoes
A big fat steak and a baked potato
Most of all, as this poetic list ends
Remember Mark truly loved you, his dear, dear friends.
Let the music take your mind,
Just release & you will find
You're gonna fly away

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mark's passing and my heartfelt sympathies go out to his family. I worked for Mark many years ago and will never forget how kind and generous he was, not to mention such a vibrant and fun-loving person. May God grant him peace and give comfort to his many friends and family members at this difficult time.

I just heard of Mark's passing and was sorry to hear that a storied life has come to a premature end. I have only seen mark a few times in the past 30 years, but we were close friends in our teens and twenties. Much of my misspent youth was spent with Mark, but this was a good thing, as I always admired Mark's love of life and entrepreneurial spirit and some of it even rubbed off. Mark was a risk taker, but also a people person, which made him a WC favorite son and a "rock star" in the local business world. He also cared a lot about his family and I extend my condolences to Jay, Chrissy, Michael and Chia. All who knew Mark were better for it!

Dear Jay, Michael, Chia and Chrissy, I was deeply saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I had the opportunity to talk to him at one of his visits to Wawa one morning and at that time he was optimistic. I was out of town the day of the funeral or I definitely would have been there. As you all know the Rowans and Waldrons grew up together and I am sure they are saddened by his passing. I am sure that Marilou and Mark have been in touch already and are planning some kind of party or something already. May you rest in peace Pud.
Sincerely,
Ken Hagerty
