JAMES TOMPKINS Obituary
JAMES, March 1, 2011, of Philadelphia. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Paone); devoted father of Alicia (Vincenzo) Afflisio, and Monica Tompkins; brother of Michael (Kathy ) Tompkins, Kathy (Bill) Schaffer, Christine Tompkins and Karen Tompkins. He is also survived by his grandson "Little Vince". He was pre-deceased by his brother and sister in law Edward and Helen Tompkins. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Friday, 11:00 A.M., at the St. Anselems Roman Catholic Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Road, Phila. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 A.M. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Del. Co., Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donors choice.

Miss Jimmy. Loved his visits to our home. Always had great times. One time he went down a water slide and it was .so funny. Another sleeping on a picnic table and never realized the sunburn he was getting. Not funny but memorable. Love that man

I have the fondest memories of growing up on Rosemar street, with Jimmy and his brothers, his sisters were very young then. Jimmy was friends with my older brother Leo. Those were the times, of forming life-long bonds with the friends you had as a child. Street games, 1/2 ball, basketball, just being happy kids. My condolences to Jim's family, and his beloved wife Marie. I'm sure my brother Leo was there to help him cross over.
