I remember seeing Evan pulling his boat on a trailer by hand past my house in the heat of the summer before he got his driver’s license so that he and his buddies could go fishing. I never saw if they actually caught anything, but it was obvious he loved to fish, anyone willing to work that hard just to get the boat to the water. He was a great young man, I am so sorry for your loss.

Evan worked as a mate on our crab boat one summer. He was a hard worker. He was always so kind and such a sweet kid. He will truly be missed by Capt. Les and Ms. Becky.

I first met Evan when I worked in the cafeteria at KMS. He was one of the staffs favorites. Later in his 8th grade year he moved to my neighborhood and I would see him first riding his bike around then driving. He always said hi or waved to me. Evan was a special sweet heart who always had a smile on his face. He will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family. -Jill Brown

From Allie's Delaware family, we hope you can hear our prayers and feel our hugs. We didn't know Evan, but obviously you had a very special son and brother who was loved by all who knew him. As you go through this difficult journey, look forward to being able to reflect on all the good that he gave to so many, and the love that he gave to you during his way-to-short time on this earth. Good bless ~

Crossing the Bar

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

I had the great opportunity to get to know Evan as his senior English teacher. He was such an absolute treasure in the class--so positive and kind. I also had the chance to keep up with him over the summers at the CAF pool, and it was, again, a pleasure to have to chance to know him outside the classroom. My deepest sympathy goes out to you, his family and close friends. I will miss Evan's lovely, smiling face this summer. May you find strength in each other and in your wonderful memories. God bless each of you and give you comfort.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Stubbe

Evan the whole neighborhood knew you. You touched every life you came in contact with, our kids, our families, everyone. I will never forget your hugs when you would run up and give me a hug and say, "Hi, Ms. Stewart, how are you doing." Your smile and your eyes that would light up any room. You made such a positive impact on our kids trying to teach them how to do things. We will miss seeing you running through the neighborhood. You were an amazing person and you will live in our hearts and memories forever. We love you Evan and will miss you terribly.
