James Sharpe Obituary

James R. Sharpe PORTSMOUTH - James Robert "Bob" Sharpe, 71, loving father and devoted husband, went to rest in his heavenly home, Nov. 20, 2010. He was a native of Portsmouth and was the son of the late Mary Ethel and James R. Sharpe Sr. He retired as a major with the Portsmouth Sherriff Department after 23 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Sharpe; a daughter, Jaime Lynn Kraeuter and her husband Berk of Portsmouth; two sons, Curtis L. Sharpe and wife Janet of New Church, Va., and Robert T. Sharpe and wife Patty of Baltimore; a sister, Diane Mason of Saluda, Va.; a brother, Don Sharpe of Birmingham, Ala.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special nephew that was like a son to "Bob," Wayne Jenkins. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

I am soo sorry to hear about Bob's passing....he was always so sweet! Whenever I saw him...no matter how bad his knees were hurting...he wanted me to sit on his knee & give him a hug! He will greatly missed by a lot of people! He was a true character...that is what made him the man he was! May God grant you comfort during this holiday season. Man I will miss that guy!!! Love Andi
