Gerard Aschenbrenner Obituary


Gerard Aschenbrenner SUFFOLK - Gerard Francis Aschenbrenner Jr., 65, died at home peacefully Dec. 7, 2008. A native of Reading, Pa., he was a computer specialist with U.S. Customs for 30 years before retiring in 1998. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mary C. King; a daughter, Katherine M. VanPeeren and husband Todd of Chesapeake; a granddaughter, and the light of his life, Kristina Li VanPeeren; three sisters, Ellen Bigos and husband Frank of Reading, Ruth Michalak and husband Stanley of Temple Hills, Md., and Andrea Schultz and husband Ron of Kenhorst, Pa.; and a brother, James Aschenbrenner of Reading. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, by the Rev. Deb Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
