Gerard Aschenbrenner SUFFOLK - Gerard Francis Aschenbrenner Jr., 65, died at home peacefully Dec. 7, 2008. A native of Reading, Pa., he was a computer specialist with U.S. Customs for 30 years before retiring in 1998. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mary C. King; a daughter, Katherine M. VanPeeren and husband Todd of Chesapeake; a granddaughter, and the light of his life, Kristina Li VanPeeren; three sisters, Ellen Bigos and husband Frank of Reading, Ruth Michalak and husband Stanley of Temple Hills, Md., and Andrea Schultz and husband Ron of Kenhorst, Pa.; and a brother, James Aschenbrenner of Reading. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, by the Rev. Deb Jenkins.
