Marianna Ivey Obituary

KICKAPOO - Marianna Ivey, 85, of Edwards passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Liberty Village of Peoria.

Marianna was born on May 21, 1928, the daughter of Floyd and Etta Best Chambers. She married Richard C. Ivey on June 4, 1947, in Kickapoo. He passed on March 12, 2010.

Surviving are six children, Peggy (William) Shane of Princeville, Betty (Joseph) Heinz of Kickapoo, Sally (Ronald) Eller of Chillicothe, Patty (Brent) Rosenbaum of Kickapoo, Richard "Rick" (Kim) Ivey II and Tammy (Matt) Ivey, both of Peoria. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Marianna worked for the Alta grade school in the cafeteria for many years. She also volunteered her time at St. Mary's church funeral dinners and was a lifelong member at St. Mary's church in Kickapoo.

Marianna was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and was an avid Cubs fan.

A funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kickapoo. Father Joseph Dondanville will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church Parish Hall. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo. Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo.
