THOMAS PHALIN Obituary
Age 27, of Bethel Park, died unexpectedly on Thursday July 7, 2011. Beloved son of Tom and the late Joyce Phalin; loving brother of Jen (Greg) Counselman and Tim Phalin; uncle of Jordan Counselman; grandson of Charles and Alma Schucht and the late Carl and Emily Phalin. Tom is also survived by many aunts, uncles; and cousins. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at PAUL L. HENNEY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests memorial donations may be made in his name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 555 Grant St. Suite 425, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-4408.

I didn't know Tom all that well but he was my brother's roommate in college, teammate and the best man at my brother and sister-in-law's wedding. I had the honor of standing up with him and getting to know him that night. He was a great person and he will be missed. I send all of my prayers to the Phalin family....rest in peace Tom.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I knew Tom since freshman year at Gannon when a mutual friend introduced us. My first thought - wow he looks like prince william! Such a sweet smile. He was an awesome, funny, charming, caring man. I hope his close friends and family are given the strength to get through this difficult time. Prayers ~

Though I never knew Tom very well, I do remember him as smart, funny, and friendly. He had tremendous potential, and I'm sorry to see that his life has been cut so tragically short.

tom was my roomate for 4 years and i still can't believe it. we have some great memories together and my thoughts are
with his family at this time. tom was a stud on our gannon golf team and i'll always remember him coming to geneva and us winning scrambles everytime we played in them. people would gather around the tee to watch him bomb the ball. you'll be missed my friend.

I will always remember Tommy as a very talented volleyball player for Bethel Park High School. He was respected and well-liked by his coaches, team mates, and student/parent fans....he played hard, encouraged his team, and lit up the court with his smile.
