I have had the distinct honor to work with Marlene in the same building these past few years. She continually amazed me with her organization and dedication to all she did. Marlene always had a kind word, an inspiring piece of advice, or just a warm smile. Her generosity knew no bounds. I will treasure the books she gave to my son...I feel so honored to know that Robert used those books. Marlene's presence was a true gift to everyone. She will be greatly missed. Thank you, Marlene, for all you have done for my family and me. May you find joy and peace with Robert now.

I am so sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. My heart goes out to Marlene's family and also to Sean. It has been years since I have seen them but always knew they were ok. But, there is something to be said when one leaves this plane and goes 'home'. Just know that she is at peace and she is home now watching over each and everyone of you/us. I know this is a time of morning and we all mourn in different ways but let's focus on all the good, positive memories and not the loss of one we all loved and cherished. It isn't a time to focus on that loss it is a time to focus on the amazing love that was given to us all from Marlene. Remember the friendships made, all of the hearts that were touched, and all of the connections that she made that now brings all together. May you find peace, comfort in this great time of sorrow. Marlene will never be forgotten and always remembered! She was a gift!
May God bless you and all!

Marlene was a graduate of BU's literacy program and a valued cooperating teacher for us. She mentored many of our grad students who were studying to be reading teachers. She was also my student in the program. She was a serious and no-nonsense teacher, but akways had a ready smile and there was a lighter side to her as well. I also knew her from church and knew how much she doted on and loved her son. Marlene will be missed but she certainly is at peace now. I send my sympathies to all her family.

Sincerely,
Karen Bromley

I am proud to call Marlene a colleague and friend. Marlene and I first got to know each other when I would substitute teach for her about 18 years ago. She was a pleasure to work with, and just a genuinely nice person. Even though we were in different elementary buildings, I always enjoyed working with her on committee work and at workshops. Dear Diane and family, Our hearts are heavy with such sad news. We have been there before. There in no pain worse than death and why God sent us Jesus to help us. We lived through five Christmases before we could feel we would survive such heart ache. Our hearts can be near even when our bodies are not. We send our love. Maybe I could have helped had we known.
Our fondest thoughts are the Friday nights at our house for snow fun and the two of you with our four all together for supper and bad Uncle Benny pretending to not like his food.
Aunt Eleanore and Uncle Benny
