My Sweet Darling Love, It's hard to see through the tears. Next Sunday will be a year since you left behind all the family that loved you so very much. You are in my heart and mind every day of my life and will always remain there. You were my bright shining star and life has losts its glow without your warmth, humor, sparkling blue eyes. You faced your death with grace, strength, and humor for your mother and I. My saving grace has been the fact that you are dwelling in the shadow of our Lord and Savior and at some point in time I will be spending eternity with you. Until then my love you will always remain in my heart.I will love you forever and beyond. Your wife, Mary

Mary,
I hope things are going as well as possible for you. I surely feel that I lost a long time friend when I heard about Jerry's passing. I too met Jerry at Pacheco Elementary. So many memories of Jerry sitting behind me in Mrs. Hart's 6th grade class. Loved his smile and he had the best sense of humor ever, even when he was picking on me. My fondest to the family and friends.

Sweet Baby, I really tried to make it through this day without writing on your page . 7 months today, the world seems like it has a dull sheen covering it without you here. I lost all the shine when I lost you. It's like a song I heard today how am I suppose to live without you now that I've been loving you so long. There is no acceptable answere to that. Sometimes I go forward and sometimes I slip backward. Just don't yet know how to put my heart back together. I'm lonely and sad with out you. Forever and always Baby I will love you. Your wife, Mary

My sweet love, I guess it may seem crazy for me to keep writing on your page, but then I may now be a little crazy. Its been 6 months today since you left me. My life feels like it has been turned upside down. I look at the pictures of you, Mom, Jack, Dad and Lyndi and think what has happen to my life. Everyone I loved so dearly all gone in just a flash of time. I cry,I scream but all of you are still gone from me. I miss your warmth, your smile, your laughter and silly little conversations. I long for your hugs, your touch. I feel like this sadness will never end. I love you Jerry, forever and always, your wife, Mary

Its been hard for me to find the words to express what you brought into my life. At a minimum you brought Light with your deep faith, amazing stories shining eyes, broad smile and wonderful laugh. A family gathering was not the same without you there. I miss all of you, especially your warm kindness and strong hugs. I know that you know what's in my heart as you soar above us on your strong eagle wings. February 14, 2010
Dear Mary,
My name is Alex vonDachenhausen. I knew Jerry while we went to school together at Enterprise High School. Jerry always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. I had one Physical Education class with him- what an athlete he was! My buddies who played sports with him in grade and high school say that he was one of the best athletes ever to come out of Shasta County. After hearing of Jerry's passing, Mark Boehle and Andy Main got a small group of us together (including Dave Steele and Jerry's good friend Delmer Bunselmeier) for a farewell drink at C.R. Gibbs- we had a really nice time reminiscing about Jerry and the good times we had with him- as mentioned in previous entries in this guest book, Gina DiMasi and Linda McWherter happened to stop by (I think maybe Jerry was pulling some strings!) and they joined us in sharing memories of Jerry. We did more of the same at Dale Frost's beautiful South Lake Tahoe home in early February, with Dale, Delmer, Andy, Dave, Ed Pearson and Kevin Snider in attendance.
We all want to let you know that we're thinking of you and Jerry's family, and that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely, Alex

Dearest Mary,
I'm having such a hard time trying to start this so i'll just get to the point. When Jerry would come into where we worked he always had the nicest things to say about you. He would say "do you see how sweet Mary is all the time" I said yes. He said "well it's not a put on, she is like that all the time". You could see the love he had for you. It was the sweetest thing i ever heard. Thought you should know that. You both were so perfect for each other. Such sweet and caring people. I know you miss jerry so much and i'm so sorry for your loss. Just remember all us girls are here for you whenever you need to talk. We love you very much. Jerry will be missed by all that he came in contact with. He was such a sweet person. You have a lot of friends that care about you and miss Jerry. Will see you soon. Take care Mary. lots of love

Mary I am saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. Quite frankly it is a shock.
I always looked forward to Jerry coming in and visiting while I worked. He was always cheerful and appreciated my humor. He was truly one of the "good people" I knew in Redding.
Please keep in mind that life is but a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. This point in time is just a stepping stone to the real world and life that is ahead that all believers can look forward to. The true source of inspiration and strength is found only in the scripture.
Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth! Break into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people. And will have compassion on His afflicted. (Isaiah 49:13)
When it seems our world and life has fallen apart keep in mind "The eternal God is a dwelling place. And underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deuteronomy 33:27)
My love and prayers go out to you Mary.

I barely considered Jerry to be my brother-in-law, because in my heart and in my mind he was one of my brothers. He and I had such similar interests, attitudes, and a crazy sense of humor! We both loved the outdoors, were driven to seek out more and more fun, loved our family, and loved joking around! My sons all considered their Uncle Jerry the world's best buddy and playmate! They were all great fishermen together! I always loved buying Jerry funny
T-shirts that said things like "Carnivore!", and "I listen to the voices in my tackle box!". And I often got things for him that had an Eagle on it, like a hat, a blanket, a pen, and anything I could find! Even my kids always thought of their Uncle Jerry any time they saw an actual Eagle or something with an Eagle on it!
I always loved Jerry, but once he gave his heart to God, and was able to completely change the jist of his life, I became so very proud of him. Not everyone can change their life the way Jerry did, once he received God's strength, inspiration, and amazing grace! He became my spiritual hero! He always loved Eagles, but once he became a Christian, he realized how the Eagle was a symbol of God's strength in us! His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31, which says "They who trust in the Lord shall soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint". Jerry was living proof of that scripture! I now have a tattoo with a heart that has eagle's wings, and a banner below it that says "Isaiah 40:31". Eagles will always remind me of the secure strength that God gave to Jerry to change his life! As a scrapbooker, I made Jerry a card on which the front was a metalic refrigerator, with a picture of Jerry on the front of it held by little pretend magnets. The inside of the card said: "Jerry, if God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it! I know that you are His shining star, and that He is so proud of you!"
I will forever miss Jerry, but I am glad that he is no longer suffering in such terrible pain, and that he is peaceful and happy in Heaven. I'm sure that he is happily fishing in Heaven's Crystal Sea!

So sad to lose such a great friend. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Jerry and I first met in the 6th grade at Pacheco Elementary School and played football together from our Anderson Pop Warner days all the way through high school. He was the best player I ever played with or against. We attended the same Church and Jerry truly loved the Lord. May God bless him and keep him 'til we see each other again. He will be sorely missed, but we will remain Wildcat & Hornet teammates forever.
