Evelyn Brickey Obituary

Evelyn Thornton Brickey, of Salem, Va., was born November 25, 1937, in Radford, Va. to the late Dillard and Myrtle Sutphin Thornton. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2010. Evelyn was a loving wife, caring mother and the sweetest grandmother in the world. She was a member of Life Church Assembly of God. Surviving are her devoted husband, Bill Brickey, of 53 years; son, Darryl Brickey and wife, Beth; daughters, Dana George and husband, Jim, and B.J. Palmer and husband, David; and most important to Evelyn was her joy of loving her nine grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Melvin Thornton and wife, LeeAntha, and Clarence Thornton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. Interment will be private. There will be no visitation. 540-389-5441.
