Dorothy Hodges Lugar

Dorothy Hodges Lugar, 85, of Roanoke, Va., has passed peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, April 6, 2009. A daughter of the late Floyd and Pearl Hodges, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert Hodges, Floyd Hodges, and James Hodges. A member of the former Melrose United Methodist Church, she currently was a member of Southview United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Paul H. Lugar; son, Paul K. Lugar and wife, Peggy W. Lugar; grandchildren, Paul K. Lugar Jr. and Stefanie D. Lugar; sister, Dora (Pat) Carroll and husband, Buddy; several nieces and nephews; and great-granddogs, Tanner and Elliott; and Jack, the cat. Services to celebrate the life of Dorothy Lugar will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel. The Rev. Les Trail and the Rev. E.E. "Dick" Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
