Joni Frazier Obituary

Joni Ann Frazier, 51, of Christiansburg, Va., passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Lewis Gale Hospital. Joni was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Frazier. Joni is survived by her mother, Jean Frazier, of Christiansburg, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Sean Daugherty; niece, Jordan and nephew, Kyle, of Charlotte, N.C. Joni is survived by her fiance, Ricky Johnson, of Blacksburg, Va., who gave her much love and happiness; aunts and uncles, Janice and Bill Davis, Jimmy and Pat Frazier, and Ronnie and Shirley Seddon; and many cousins. Joni had a special spirit who touched everyone she met. She loved photography and worked in Christiansburg with "Lester's Photography" for many years. The family would like to give a special "thanks" to all the staff at Lewis Gale Hospital and the wonderful support team of Life Net and especially to Father Darby and wife, Shelia; Aunt Janice Davis; and life-long friends, Vicki Poff and Dari Cupp. Joni will live on in our hearts and now her gift of "organ donation" will help others live on. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, at St. Peters Anglican Catholic Church with Father Alex Darby officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Parrish House located beside of the church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluefield, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 4593, Roanoke, Va. 24015. The Frazier family is being served by Horne Funeral Service. I'm so sorry for Joni's passing. I have been so blessed to reconnect with her in the last couple years. We didn't get together as much as we had planned, but talked on the phone. She wanted to live life to the fullest and had so many hopes and dreams. She would do anything she could for you and loved everyone. I missed a call from her the day before she went to the hospital and I will forever regret that, but will keep all the other times as good memories. That's what she would want from all of us. She loved and missed her dad and will be with him now. No more heartache, sorrow or pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
