William Webb Obituary

William E. (Bill) Webb, Sr., 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 9, 2010. He resided in Fincastle, Va. with his wife of 63 years, Martha W. Webb. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. Bill was predeceased by a son, Charles B. Webb. In addition to his wife, surviving are his two sons, William E. Webb Jr. and wife, Brigitte and Vernon L. Webb and wife, Ruth; three daughters, Deborah Turner and husband, Thomas, Karen Silva and Carma Duffey and husband, Thomas; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice and all care givers. Those preferring memorials, please, consider Gentle Shepherd Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Oakey's North Chapel. Pastor Andy Cobb will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Dale Memorial Park, 3732 Breckenridge Mill Road, Fincastle, with military honors by the United States Army and the DAV Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
