MARILYN J. DIGIOVANNI, 67 ROCKFORD - Marilyn J. DiGiovanni, 67, of Rockford died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in her home, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 13, 1945, in Richmond, Va.; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Costello. Marilyn married Frank J. DiGiovanni on May 2, 1998, in Rockford. She was a waitress who worked for many area restaurants. Marilyn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belvidere. She is survived by her husband Frank of Rockford; sons, Joseph Cartwright of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Steven (Janice) Cartwright, of Massachusetts; daughter, Melinda Marquez of Belvidere; stepchildren, Michael, James and Lisa DiGiovanni; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and son, Todd Cartwright. Service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Zion Lutheran Church, 1300 Pearl St., Belvidere, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Dr. Karl Otto, pastor, will officiate. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. To express condolences online, visit buckwheelerhyland.com.

Grandma,
The past 7 years have been fantastic with you. I'm so very blessed to have met you, been able to call you grandma and for Melanie to know her great grandma.
