Marilyn DiGiovanni Obituary

MARILYN J. DIGIOVANNI, 67 ROCKFORD - Marilyn J. DiGiovanni, 67, of Rockford died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in her home, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 13, 1945, in Richmond, Va.; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Costello. Marilyn married Frank J. DiGiovanni on May 2, 1998, in Rockford. She was a waitress who worked for many area restaurants. Marilyn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belvidere. She is survived by her husband Frank of Rockford; sons, Joseph Cartwright of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Steven (Janice) Cartwright, of Massachusetts; daughter, Melinda Marquez of Belvidere; stepchildren, Michael, James and Lisa DiGiovanni; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and son, Todd Cartwright. Service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Zion Lutheran Church, 1300 Pearl St., Belvidere, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Dr. Karl Otto, pastor, will officiate. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. To express condolences online, visit buckwheelerhyland.com.

Grandma,
The past 7 years have been fantastic with you. I'm so very blessed to have met you, been able to call you grandma and for Melanie to know her great grandma. Your laugh, jokes and smile will forever be etched in my heart. I'm so thankful you are resting at peace. We love and will miss you every minute of ever day.
