Ruby Barringer Obituary

Ruby P. Barringer

SALISBURY - Mrs. Ruby Poplin Barringer, 81, of Salisbury, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Genesis Eldercare.

Born Nov-ember 20, 1925 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Clyde B. and Florence Barber Poplin, and was a graduate of Boyden High School. She was employed with Catawba College as Associate Bursar and retired after 26 years of service. She was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Barringer is preceded in death by her husband, Burton C. Barringer on April 15, 2000, and one brother, Clyde Poplin.

Survivors include her son, Richard C. Barringer, Arlington, VA ; daughter, Amy B. Rehders, of Rockwell, one brother, Bill C. Poplin, of Rockwell, one sister, Mary Kesler, of Salisbury, six grandchildren, Adrianna Crooks, Tony Carter, Sonja Carter, Erika Lambeth, Jermany Rehders, and Geoff Rehders; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Harris, and Lily Lambeth.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2007 at Summersett Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Robert Heard officiating.

Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 17, 2007 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Summersett Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 222 South Chruch Street Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC 28202

Summersett Funeral Home is assisting the Barringer family.
