KIRBY LAMBERT Obituary

Kirby Jaxon Lambert 1948 ~ 2010 Our beloved father, brother, grandfather and uncle Kirby Jaxon Lambert passed away peacefully in his home on November 26, 2010. He was born to Anton Hardy Lambert and Ione Jackson on February 15, 1948 in Cedar City, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church. Kirby served in the U.S. Army as a Gunnery Specialist on the M60 tank, and also was an expert sharpshooter. While serving in the Army he married Janet Haider on December 23, 1968, they later divorced. They had two children Bart and Bobbi. Kirby worked in the lumber business for several years and also in the mining industry. He later worked for Five County Association of Governments for years where he retired in February 2010. Through his life, Kirby kept busy with his side business at home repairing and sharpening chainsaws, he also enjoyed spending time with his kids at the cabin he built. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and also enjoyed his home in Beaver Dam, Arizona where he liked reading books, watching movies and spending time with his family and friends there. He took pride in his home and yard, and kept them in immaculate condition. Kirby will be remembered as a great man with a generous capacity to help others. He had a great love for his parents, sisters, kids and grandchildren. Kirby will be missed by his loving sister Ember Winders. They were very close all their lives. He is survived by Bart (Heather) Lambert, Bobbi (Jason) Kimball both of Cedar City, and eight grand-children. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 North 300 West, in Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Mortuary, and then again at the Mortuary on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to www.sumortuary.com
