I had the privelege of teaching with Jim for nearly thirty years. He was truly an esteemed colleague. As we both taught the same subject matter, human anatomy and physiology, I had very close contact with him for most of that time. He was not only a dedicated teacher, but a colleague that I could always call upon for help. He was always interested in improving our courses and worked diligently towards that end. It comes as no suprise to me, that his final gesture was to will his mortal remains to science education. Jim was also a man of great faith. One did not learn that from listening to him because he did not tell you such things. Rather you learned it my observing how he lived. I have lost a good friend and a great professional colleague. The world has lost a good man.
