Allen Pullen Obituary

PULLEN
Allen Lee Pullen, age 70, passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 2nd, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He spent most of his adult life in San Antonio and made many contributions to this city and community. He was born July 20, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, but spent most of his younger years in Crystal City, Texas. Allen moved to San Antonio at age 15 following the death of his father, Sam. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before earning his degree with honors from the University of Texas, after which he began a forty-year career in business that spanned import/export, retail, commercial real estate, banking, and small-business consulting. Many people in the community knew Allen through his extensive volunteer work, including his service to Goodwill Industries, the Girl Scouts of America, the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the San Antonio Manufacturers Association, and other nonprofit organizations. While work, community service, and lifelong learning occupied much of his time, Allen's foremost concern was always the welfare of his family and friends, and this was clear to everyone who came to know him well. His sense of humor will long be remembered, as well his unique way of passing on his fundamental beliefs and the lessons that he learned. Allen's life appeared to be simple and ordinary, but to those who knew him well, it was most extraordinary, and we are incredibly blessed to have shared it with him. Allen is survived by Roslyn, his wife of 47 years; brothers Joel and his wife, Reesa, and Stuart and his wife, Cathy; sons Sam and his wife, Peggy, and Adam and his wife, Andrea; grandchildren Andre and Annika; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sounds like God really used Allen to be a blessing and help to others. His picture looks the same as I remember him from years and years ago in Crystal City, Texas. Condolences to his wife and family. Judy Kay Brown
