Reuben Archuleta Obituary

Reuben James Archuleta Reuben James Archuleta, born June 21, 1959, Durango, Colorado; died December 29, 2010; candidate for city office as a Durango high school student; made The City his home thirty years ago; active in SF Democratic Party; outspoken, expressing views others might find uncomfortable. Even while ill, was adamant that he vote in the most recent primary and general elections. Predeceased by his parents Salomon and Delurdes Archuleta and brother Jerry; survived by his brother Tony Archuleta of Durango, Colorado, and many relatives. Reubens family is grateful to the staffs of Laguna Honda and U.C.S.F. hospitals for the compassion and care provided to him during this last year. Services, at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 1025 Masonic Avenue, San Francisco, Friday, January 14, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. with internment in Durango, Colorado. McAVOY OHARA CO. (415) 668-0077

Tony Archuleta and family members of Reuben Archuleta: I have many memories since Reuben's arrival to the Bay Area and his itegration into our California extension of the family. I have enjoyed knowing Reuben over the years. Unfortunately, I will miss the mass in his honor but, my wife, sons and I will remember him fondly. I am glad that my father, Gregory Esq., was able to provide support to Reuben and to keep his spirits up through discussions of the city and federal goings-on over the last year. If you find yourself in San Antonio look me up.

Tony & Archuleta/Jacquez Families: Our deepest sympathy in the loss of our cousin, Reuben. I have many fond memories of our childhood rompings and will miss being able to laugh with Reuben about the things we did that got us in to trouble.
