Kay LeRoy and Taylor Family--I saw your step-dad's passing in an article in the paper and was so surprised as I had just seen him just a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I got to tell him "thank you" for being the "sweet" Judge at our son, John's, adoption and that we have pictures of that day with your Step-Dad included in our home. He was such a blessing to us that day now some 17 years ago. We will be praying for you as you grieve the loss of this special man. Dave, Jeri, Beth and John Baker

21 years ago your father presided over my daughter's adoption. He made a very special day for my family and I even more meaningful by his loving and caring attitude. It was obvious to us then, that he was a very special man.

Jan,
You likely don't remember me. (We attended elementary and junior high school together.) While reading about your father's death, I recalled a story you once told of how he used his position to positively influence your childhood behavior. Later, I had the wonderful opportunity to be influenced first-hand by your father during my career with the Shreveport Police Department. He leaves a wonderful legacy to follow. My sympathy to you and your family.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Judge Gorman E. Taylor our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Judge Taylor. And to Judge Taylor it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Judge Taylor, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,355 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Judge Taylor’s family and loved ones.
