ALICE MILLENAAR Obituary
She was born Aaltje Cuperus on 4/16/1909 in Oak Harbor, WA, spending a few childhood years in her parent's native Friesland (Holland). Raised on Whidbey Island, her parents' farm was located where the Naval Air Station now stands.
In 1929, she married Cornelius (Neal) Millenaar, and spent most of her adult life in Skagit County as a homemaker, and an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, WA.
She enjoyed gardening, trips to the beach, daily walks and knitting colorful afghans. The memory of her sweet smile and love for the Lord will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Alice was preceded in death by parents, Ruurd and Geertje Cuperus; her brother, Frank Cuperus; her husband of 56 years, Neal Millenaar; and daughter, Geraldine Ruth Enyeart.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Vanden Hoorn of Burns Lake, B.C.; grandchildren, Sandi Kimball (Bob) of Poulsbo, WA, Cheryl Teehan (John) of Lynnwood, WA and Steve Enyeart (Andrea) of Austin TX; great-grandchildren, Andrew O'Farrell of Scottsdale, AZ, Brennan Teehan of Riverside, CA, Heather O'Farrell of Pullman, WA; and numerous nieces & nephews.
A celebration of Alice's life will take place on Saturday, May 7, from 2-4pm at CRISTA's Kings Chapel, which is located inside The Courtyard at Cristwood, 19327 King's Garden Drive, Shoreline (for directions: 206-546-7575).
Alice will be laid to rest at Fircrest Cemetery in Oak Harbor.
The family would like to thank the staff of CRISTA Nursing Center for their personal, loving care of Alice during her 11 years with them.
