Nancy Henthorn Obituary

Nancy Jean (Hacker) Henthorn

Feb. 09, 1944 - Aug. 30, 2017

MISHAWAKA - Nancy Jean Henthorn, 73, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 9, 1944 in Vincennes, IN to the late Willard and Catherine (Suders) Hacker. Her brother, James Hacker, also preceded her in death.

On May 4,1968, Nancy married the love of her life, Timothy Henthorn. He survives. To their union, they were blessed with three sons, Patrick (Jennifer) Henthorn of South Bend, David (Kim) Henthorn of Terre Haute, IN and Kevin (Jill) Henthorn of Downers Grove, IL. Also left to cherish her memory are six grandchildren, Sierra, Landon, Katie, Charlotte, James and Sarah Henthorn.

Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and artist who loved to do craft projects with her grandchildren. Always eager to snap a picture, she leaves her family with thousands of photos of their time together. She was also very active with the Boy Scouts of America, the South Bend Power Squadron, and with St. Monica Catholic Church, where she served as librarian for the parish school. Before her children were born, she worked in advertising for Robertson's Department Store and kept a friendship with many of the ladies she met there. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and gardening. She left us unexpectedly, but we are comforted in knowing she lived a great life and is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, from 5-8 p.m., with the Rosary being prayed at 5 p.m., at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Jacob Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave. Mishawaka, IN 46545, or to the American Red Cross, for Hurricane Harvey relief, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037.
