Eugene Lemmonds Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Eugene "Gene" Lemmonds, 81, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 8, 1930, in Pacolet Mills, he was the son of the late Dewitt and Venrie Allen Lemmonds, and husband of the late Mary Emma Haile Lemmonds.
Mr. Lemmonds was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and retired from General Electric.
Survivors include his son, Raymond Lemmonds Jr. and wife Sharon of Pacolet Mills; daughter, Rena Shehan and husband Jim "JJ" of Pacolet; granddaughters, Sonya Mode, Stacy Smith, and Tracy Taylor, all of Spartanburg; grandsons, Marty Lawter, Scottie Lemmonds, and Andy Lemmonds, all of Pacolet; sister, Emily Millwood of Pacolet; and special friend, Joann Fleming of Pacolet. He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Tyler Lemmonds; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2012, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, by the Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Burial will be in Haile-Webber Cemetery, Jonesville, SC.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Rena and JJ Shehan, 148 Noble Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.

I am very sorry to hear of of Gene's passing. Gene and his family were close friends of my family when we were growing up in the 1940's and 50's. Gene was a fine person.
