Lois Hunter Obituary

HUNTER,
Lois G.
(Pintler)
(Age 89)

Lois was born to Charles A. and Georgia M. Pintler on July 13, 1921, in Tekoa, WA. She passed away in Spokane, WA on June 18, 2011.
Lois graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1938 and attended Washington State College (WSU) where she met Harley C. Hunter. They were married on June 24, 1943 in New York City while Chuck was serving in the US Navy at Lakehurst, NJ.
Upon returning to Spokane, three children were born, and she became an active Mom raising the children with Chuck, being a Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, PTA member, and Democratic Party volunteer and supporter. ater on, she became the Promotions Director at KXLY and Executive Secretary to the President of Gonzaga University. Lois loved to write--anything from letters to recipes to newspaper columns, oil paint, cook for and entertain friends and family, and spent many years enjoying golf with Chuck and friends in Spokane and at their home at Avondale Golf Course.
The past eleven years were spent at Courtland Place, and most recently, Moran Vista.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, father, and two brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Chuck; three children, Woody (Renae) Hunter, Jeff (Diane) Hunter, and Jody (Mike) Hardin; six grandchildren, Derek (Elana) Hunter, Patrick (Jen) Hunter, Grant (Kate) Hunter, Dana Hunter, Scott (Kim) Hardin, and Craig Hardin; and four great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Asia, and Cade Hardin, and Audrey Hunter.
The family would like to express their affection and thanks to Linda Ann Johnson, RN, for all of her loving care of our mother. Lois was greatly loved and is dearly missed by us all.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 from 2-8 PM at HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N. Monroe St in Spokane.
A private, family burial service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane or to the donor's choice of charity.

Mom,
I want you to know how very special you have been and always will be to me. You were an amazing Mom who always had time for us kids growing up and were there for our friends when they needed an extra friend. You were a wonderful wife to Dad and always spoiled him a little and took good care of him- and then the tables turned and he took such good care of you.
I will remember all of the good times, your smile and laugh, and I will shed some tears at times because I miss you, Mom, so very much. You were the heart of our family and now you are in heaven with Nan and watching over us all.
All my love always, your daughter Jody
