I met Steve back in 1974 when we both worked for my father, a local general contractor back in Doylestown PA.
I didn’t realize Steve had passed away until I searched his name on the internet tonite, wondering where he was after all these years.
I wish to extend my sincere belated condolences to his wife Nancy as well as his family.
Steve was a joy to be around.
He and his buddy Kevin Smith, who my dad hired the following summer on Steve’s recommendation, taught me how to work hard and have fun doing it.
I can still see him coming to work on his motorcycle at 7:30 in the morning, his long hair flying from beneath his helmet and his took belt around his back.
I hadn’t seen Steve since the summer of 75 but I’ll always his remember his smile, those small wire rim granny glasses he wore, and his unique way of saying “thanks”.....
“Tanks....boats and airplanes”
May you Rest In Peace my friend.
Sincerely,
John Udinski

I remember the day before I moved up to San Antonio from Palm Harbor -- and you tenderly placed all my huge stand-up Gnomes in your old truck, blankets under and around each, to take home and cover for overnight safety in your driveway for my big move the next day. When you slowly backed out of my driveway and drove off in your squeaky old truck, all those bright red hats were sticking up and lookin' mighty mysterious to passersby wondering what was REALLY in your truck! (and WHY!). Thanks for your help and Nancy's when I made that very unexpected move to a brand new home. Love to you from Alva Anderson

Steve is the only guy who let me pitch him a 70mph fastball while he was barefooted. You have a special place in my heart, Steve.

My heart will also carry Steve’s warmth, kindness and humor. He helped me in so many ways, but none more profound than getting a view of the world through his artist eye and imaginative spirit. We had so much fun collaborating on the Squirt book. It was fascinating to witness his flashes of creative genius and, boy oh boy, once he got into the zone, he fired on all cylinders. Nancy and I couldn’t write things down fast enough! I will watch the sunsets and imagine Steve painting the sky using all the colors in his pencil box. My friend Steve….unconventional, creative, fun and a true artist.

Steve: I will miss you forever! When I look back and think of all the fun things we did, boy did we do a lot! Going downhill skiing at Mt Snow & Mt Killington in freezing temp's, getting pulled by the truck on a rope in a innertube, My first glider ride w/ you as the Pilot, going hot air ballooning at the many balloon races" Glen Falls, Bloomsbury, Yellow Brick Toad, especially when you dangeled the famous Wallendas under the basket,Doing shots @ Hedoism, then jumping off the cliff @ Rick's Cafe in Negril, Jamaica, Digging in that wonderful soft sand in Maui & making sand castles, laying on the bed in our bedroom, (in Furloung, PA)looking out the window and count the seconds for the flash of light, Oh the so many places of islands we went to to snorkel w/ all the colorful fish, Having mimosa's in our hot tub, and really cool Halloween parties, complete w/ digging up our front lawn for the grave stones & "Herbie" to sit in the open grave, going sky diving in Orlando, going parasailing on our Honeymoon in the Bahamas, bodysurfing at the beach, when the hurricane winds kicked up the surf And so many, many more fun times we had together. I know in my heart we will meet up again, someday. All my Love, Nancy

Hi Big Brother!! Allthough you are no longer physically here you will always exist within my soul and I will carry your spirit with me wherever I go. As your little sister our memories of growing up were adventurous and endless, not to mention a little insane! How we lived through them I'll never know! What I do know is that you are FOREVER with me. As I read your guest book I can tell that MANY of those that met you saw what I knew...your artistic talents, incredible intelligence and zest for life were immeasureable!! As I make my entry into this guest book I speak to you as if your right here next to me...I guess that's because you are and you ALWAYS WILL BE!!! I LOVE YOU, YOUR little sister Sharon Kay

We have a lot of memories of Steve. First there's hot air ballooning at The Toad, in Lambertville, NJ and all the festivals. The toga parties at Steve and Nancy's in PA. Also our memorable visit with them in FL when we sailed on the catamaran after the red tide. All their wonderful Christmas cards over the years. Steve even called us while Nancy was in the hospital and we talked for awhile. It was really nice to hear from him. Steve and Nancy were the most in love couple we've ever known. Such a union will be reunited in heaven. Love ya Nancy!

Steve added so many pages to my memory book; Sailing on one wing of the hobi cat- major adrenalin surge, getting so excited at dress rehearsal air shows you couldn't help but be entranced by the joy of flight, revelling in the Renaisance Fair elephant ride or the bouncing flight, parachuting at an Orlando flight attraction last year. These are just a few memories etched deep in my soul. You're missed in this world but I know we will meet again. You continue to teach us to grab life by the throat and enjoy the ride.

In a world of sameness, we hunger to know those who live in uniquely creative ways. Steve and Nancy did just that and their love, their energy, their exhuberance for life rubbed off onto the rest of us. Thank you, Steve, for that gift. Thank you, Nancy, for keeping the candle burning.

Nancy, I had a brief but very enjoyable visit with Steve the last time the GCAA met at your house. Having recently lost someone dear to me, I sympathize with your loss and hope the memory of the good times you had together will sustain and nourish you as you learn to cope with your new life. -- Blessings, Eunice Fisher

Steve you will be greatly missed by all! I can't say I've ever met someone like you, eclectic in your own way. Sure will miss dancing with you and being reminded of being a Valcarian. That's a first! It's only a matter of time before we all meet up again. At least you are free and at peace now. God bless you my friend!

Steve, what can I say. I will never forget the first day I met you and Nancy on "The Rescue Mission" off Dunedin Causway. That was the first day of a 20 year plus relationship. If there was one friend I had that would give me the shirt off his back, it is you. Every time I walk in my bathroom I will think of the crazy fun adventure remodeling it was. So many sailing stories (lies) HA HA we shared. My girls and I will miss you dearly. Keep a lookout for us when we are on the high seas.
